Also, you can always find great hotel deals in Majorca.The value to these places is unrivaled compared to the alternative, the popular long-haul destinations of South Africa, the Caribbean or even Thailand are cheap once you get there but the cost of getting there for a family can be pretty extreme. On top of that, with long flights, most people try to go longer than for a week; especially when travelling to the exotic places of Thailand and the Caribbean.

On the flip side, The Canary Islands offer incredible weather all year round, being level with northern Africa, and with cheap flights they offer great value for money. Also going after the festive period means you are likely to avoid any stag weekends in Tenerife, Lanzarote or Grenada. This cluster of islands, apart from great weather, offers a top holiday destination. Whether you want the beach life or active pursuits, The Canaries can deliver with white and native black sand beaches as well as numerous walks around the islands with volcanic scenery. Tenerife also offers a great nightlife for those looking for a bit of fun.
Turkey offers a whole range of holiday styles, from beach breaks in Bodrum to city escapes in Istanbul.
